Introducing Fiume Bush Camp

This exceptional addition stands out for its deep cultural significance and its commitment to preserving the heritage of the San Bushmen. To our knowledge and experience, Fiume Bush Camp is one of the very few places in Namibia where guests can engage with an authentic Bushmen village and community.

Located 75 km north‑east of Grootfontein, Fiume Bush Camp is easily accessible via the D2844 from the Berg Aukas turnoff. The camp offers a rustic yet comfortable atmosphere, with stone chalets that blend naturally into the surrounding environment. Guests enjoy a simplified, close‑to‑nature accommodation experience with essential amenities. Stays are offered on a fully inclusive basis, featuring wholesome meals, a curated selection of quality beverages, and warm hospitality shared around the fire pit.

Access: 75 km north-east of Grootfontein via the D2844 from the Berg Aukas turnoff.

Directions: Enter through the gate flanked by stone walls on the left-hand side of the road. From the gate, continue ±3 km to the bush camp parking area.

Travel Advisory: Guests must use a 4×4 vehicle with high clearance due to gravel roads and sand tracks leading into the property.

Community & Culture

Home to a small community of Ju/’hoansi San Bushmen, historically nomadic hunters and gatherers.

This family unit preserves ancient traditions while embracing aspects of modern life.

Unlike “living museums” near shanty towns, the San at Fiume Bush Camp enjoy freedom, dignity, and autonomy, presenting their culture authentically.

Guests experience cultural practices such as bush walks, food gathering, and traditional dances in a respectful, immersive environment.

Fiume Bush Camp offers guests a rare opportunity to reconnect with nature while experiencing the living heritage of the Ju/’hoansi San in an authentic, dignified setting.
